North Carolina Car Accident Claim Tools

Navigating the complexities of a personal injury suit can, at first, seem like a daunting task to most people. However, with the use of some of the tools contained on this section of the website, those tasks can be greatly simplified. Some of the tools you will find here include: a Statute of Limitations Calculator, an Attorneys’ Fees Calculator, a Lawyer Locator, and Personal Injury eCourses. These tools were designed to help you better handle the different claims that may arise as a result of your North Carolina automobile accident.

Statute of Limitations Calculator

In North Carolina, there is typically a three-year window, starting from the date on which your accident occurred, in which you may bring your claims. However, depending on the unique circumstances of your accident, this period may be altered. In particular, if the claim involves the injury of a minor child or involves a wrongful death, the time to bring your claim may be lengthened or shortened. To address these issues three separate statute of limitations calculators are provided: (1) personal injury; (2) cases involving a minor; and (3) wrongful death actions.

Attorneys’ Fees Calculator

Typically, in North Carolina, attorneys’ contingency fees in personal injury matters vary from 20 to 40%. This section of the website provides real-time calculations for bodily injury, property damage, and diminished value claims. All you have to do is enter the amount of your claim (in dollars), the percentage that your attorney, or prospective attorney, charges for legal fees and an amount is returned reflecting the amount that the attorney will earn. Using these calculators helps to show that the larger the claim, the higher the amount of attorney’s fees.

NC Lawyer Locator

The Lawyer Locator page of the website provides helpful resources if you are in need of a lawyer. This list does not only include personal injury attorneys, but it also provides a list of lawyers practicing in divorce, criminal defense, traffic, estate planning, medical malpractice, child support, tax, bankruptcy, and immigration. Additionally, the lawyer locator page provides attorneys for three different geographical areas in North Carolina: Raleigh, Durham, and Greensboro.
