Corrections to a Release Agreement
If you discover errors contained in the settlement and release agreement you receive from the insurance company after negotiating a settlement for your personal injury claim, you may send a letter requesting corrections be made. A list of potential errors is included below. The settlement and release agreement should accurately and completely reflect the agreement that was reached between you and the at-fault party’s insurance company.
The following template should serve as an example of a letter that could be used to request corrections to a settlement and release agreement:

The insurance adjuster should agree to amend the settlement and release agreement to properly reflect the terms and facts of your settled claim. If you have issues getting the adjuster to correct the errors, we recommend speaking to an experienced attorney who may be able to provide advice on dealing with the insurance company.
