Wallace Pierce Law – More Than Just a Law Firm
At Wallace Pierce Law, we’re dedicated to supporting organizations with a meaningful community impact through direct, hands-on involvement. Each month, our Durham team carefully selects a charity or initiative based upon referrals from clients, attorneys, or employees’ personal experiences. We then put our boots to the ground for a day, donating our time and energy directly to people in need.
It all started back in October 2018 when we volunteered at the Foodbank of Central and Eastern NC, sorting and packing donations for statewide distribution. Shortly after, the team decided to kick off a canned food drive of our own. The goal was to fill as many boxes as possible for the less fortunate. As it turned out, there were hungry kids nearby at RAM Academy in desperate need. By the end of the drive, we’d donated 450 pounds of food, providing 375 meals to them and their families. That’s when we got bit by the service bug.

Why We Serve
Since our first foray into volunteering, we’ve worked with Move for Hunger, Wake Med Children’s Hospital, Urban Ministries of Durham, and the Ronald McDonald House of Durham and Wake, and we’re not stopping any time soon. Sometimes, the charities we pick are seasonal – food in November for Thanksgiving, toys in December for Christmas – and always, the cause is close to our hearts and our zip code.
We believe in a hands-on approach to being good citizens. Just as advocating for clients is about more than just doing a job, investing in the community requires an ongoing commitment. Our employees don’t simply show up for the typical 9-5. We’re here to make a positive impact for the long term.
Not only do our service days forge bonds with the community, they also build chemistry within our team. Working side by side away from the daily grind helps us refocus our priorities. For us, relationships should come first. If the trust isn’t there, then nothing else works quite right. Whether it’s cooking up pizza, dishing out hot meals, or shouldering boxes full of toys, having each other’s backs makes us a stronger team in the office, the courtroom, and beyond. Plus, we like hanging out with each other. It’s just fun.
Stepping out of the office to help the greater community is an essential part of what we do in law and in life. We believe that making personal connections is the key to success. Putting in the hard work to see a smile at the end of the day is far more rewarding than simply signing a check.
